The Chancery Rosewood

Sector: Leisure
Scope of work: Fire rated glazed screens and doors
Location: 30 Grosvenor Square, Mayfair

Integrity played a key part in transforming the former American Embassy into the Chancery Rosewood. Located London’s prestigious Mayfair, the Chancery Rosewood is a brand new super-luxe hotel offering a five star experience and an array of high-end amenities. Integrity were responsible for installing bespoke fire-rated and non-fire-rated glazed screens and doors throughout the luxury guest rooms and communal areas.

From start to finish, this has been one of Integrity’s largest and complex projects. In collaboration with our associated business, Measom Dryline, we successfully navigated numerous logistical and design challenges. Mulitplex were a great contractor to work under and helped with co-ordination of all trades to make design to delivery seamless. By aligning and finalising all interface detailing at the design stage, we eliminated potential scope gaps for our client, ensuring a seamless and efficient installation on site.

What our client had to say…

“Measom Dryline and their associated businesses, Integrity Glass and Simplicity, were instrumental in bringing The Chancery Rosewood to life, showcasing their mastery in drylining, ceilings, GRG, and glazed partitions. Their commitment to excellence was evident from leadership through to site teams, being always approachable and solution focused.

Their precision and attention to detail set a high benchmark, while their agile response to challenges kept the project on track and ensured quality demands were met. They delivered with confidence, leaning where required on trusted system providers to ensure the final install met compliance criteria.

Measom Dryline and their associated businesses did not just meet expectations, but they pushed boundaries, embracing the complexity of the project and rising to every challenge. A trusted partner, counted on to deliver quality without compromise.” – Matt Jarvis, Project Manager at Multiplex

Design Coordination: The Challenge and Our Solutions

Integrity and Measom worked closely with the client to develop designs that met specific requirements. The unique nature of the project demanded bespoke solutions, tailored to suit the exact characteristics of the space. However, drawing on extensive experience, Integrity proposed a number of effective design options. Great attention to detail was required to ensure that the measurements were perfect for installation due to the strict tolerances on the project.

One of the main designs were developed was in the level 1 lounge space. It was essential to both the client and the architect that the interior design aligned with the external façade. This was originally made from a Shueco system however it soon became clear that it could not deliver the necessary structural and acoustic performance. As a result, Integrity developed a bespoke solution that replicated the slimline appearance of the Schueco façade, using steel instead of aluminium to achieve the necessary robustness and meet performance requirements.

VIP Reception

The installation of the tall, glazed screens in the VIP reception area presented a complex logistical challenge from the outset. Each glass panel measured 1.5 m in width and 4.5 m in height and weighed 500kg. With no access via hoist or internal lifts, Integrity devised a bespoke lifting solution using the existing gantry balcony. A temporary platform was created to safely raise the glass over the balustrade, after which panels were carefully moved, lowered into position, and secured on timber A-frames using vacuum lifters and cranes. This method ensured that each glass unit reached the correct level safely and efficiently.

The next challenge was the installation itself. A large spiral staircase in the middle of the two lobbies made access extremely difficult. On the west side, panels were lifted from the ground floor into their openings, but the east side required a more inventive solution. With limited floor loading capacity and ongoing ductwork installations, a spider crane was positioned on level one to move each panel the six-metre distance to the openings, where operatives guided them into place with precision. The scale, accuracy, and planning required, made this one of the most technically demanding installations on the project.

West Wing Corridors

The West Wing corridors also presented several unique challenges. One of these was a riser door located in the middle of the corridor. Integrity were asked to develop a solution to conceal this within a set of glazed screens that would appear as a single continuous unit. To achieve this, the team designed and installed a custom system using a combination of mirrored glazed screens and standard fire-rated screens.

Due to the way the riser door needed to open, the system had to be precisely designed and installed within a specific area. Specialised pivot hinges were used to accommodate this functionality. The installation had to be completed within the strict measurements provided.

Additionally, a fire alarm and other essential services within the corridor walls had to remain accessible. Integrity created bespoke glass panels with precisely positioned cutouts to accommodate these services, ensuring a flawless finish.

Conference Rooms

Integrity were responsible for installing glazed screens above the conference rooms. Due to their weight, the screens required a carefully designed support system. At the same time, it was essential that this achieved the desired finish, avoiding any interference with the Dia grid bays that were key to the architectural design.

Working with Measom to develop a solution that met both structural and aesthetic requirements, steel columns and a bespoke substructure were installed under the joinery, which provided the necessary support to allow the glazed screens to sit seamlessly above the rooms.

“From design through to installation, we developed bespoke, carefully considered solutions to overcome each challenge and deliver the client’s vision. Through rigorous design work and the competence of the installation team, we were able to create something truly remarkable.” – Liam Dackombe, Project Director at Integrity Glass

Integrity successfully delivered a high-quality, bespoke solution that met the client’s aesthetic and performance requirements. By collaborating closely with the client throughout the project and providing tailored solutions, the company exceeded expectations. This project stands as a testament to the capability of Integrity to deliver complex, high-end glazing solutions.
